Cards contain either squares, circles, triangles, crosses or stars and also a numeral 1-13. The dealer deals 6 cards to each player, putting the rest in the centre and turning the first card over. The aim of the game is to lose all your cards by following the suit or the same numeral. If you do not have either, you have to pick up a card from the centre pile. Joker 'WHOT&' cards are placed down so you change to a new suit. When a player has no cards left, the game ends and scores are added up. The score of any left over star cards are doubled; a WHOT card left over will score 20.
A sheet for children to complete all about maths concepts related to them (number of letters in name, number of boys/girls in family, house number etc)
Simple 4x4 grids with columns labelled A to D and rows labelled 1 to 4.
Images of superheroes, 2D shapes, dinosaurs and Mickey Mouse characters to find the grid co-ordinates for.
Children to remember to write the x-axis first and then the y-axis.
The first two grids are very simple with 4 image co-ordinates to record, the next two have either 6 or 9 co-ordinates to record.
A set of 9 posters, each displaying a numeral from 1-9. Each numeral contains images to represent that number, as well as the addition number bond sentences and shapes with that number of sides. Thanks to The First Grade Parade blog who inspired me.

Number bond to 10 posters with images and rhymes related to the popular children&'s TV programme Ben 10. Ben is Ben Tennyson a modern day superhero fighting aliens.
A winter/Christmas dice game based on the old game Beetle Drive. Roll the dice to be the first to draw Rudolph, before adding up your scores! Thanks to Theminster and MissEBG for inspiration from their reindeer and snowman themed games.
A matching pairs game using the skin patterns of a tiger, leopard, cow, giraffe, elephant, zebra, snake and peacock.
To be printed double sided and laminated.
This game links with my other zoo-themed resources.
Based on my shared writing activity, I have made a zigzag style book. Created in Publisher on an A3 format, the page can be folded (and glued) in half horizontally and then folded to make the zigzags. Children can complete the missing words and draw a picture of their animal. They can then stick a post-it note over the picture or draw a picture of a box and sellotape it over the top to make the flap. Would be interesting to have flaps opening from different directions or different shapes!
Pet cards and skin texture boards. Children to sort the cards onto the correct board, depending on which skin type they have. Can provoke discussion around why animals have certain skins (temperature regulation, protection, sensory needs). Could also introduce camouflage.
A role-play assistance sheet designed to be kept in the topic resource box to help teachers and TAs/NNs set up the role-play area with the kids. Suggested resource list and possible scenarios
3 different categories: best in show, agility (obstacle course/tricks) and obedience. Certificates made for 1st, 2nd and 3rd, so can bring in ordinal numbers.

Questions and answers about 3D shapes. Designed to be used as a interactive display with question on the outside. Lift the flap to discover the answer.
Common 3D shapes: sphere, cone, cube, cuboid, cylinder, triangular prism, square-based pyramid, triangular-based pyramid
Children to write down their number bonds to 10 on the legs of the spider. Differentiated, so more able could complete the possible two multiples of 10 to make 100.
Extension/carousel activity
Children either allocated a numeral, or choose a numeral card and write down what is one more and one less.
Planned to go alongside Year 1 Block A Unit 1 Week 2 - written addition and subtraction sums - focus on the numerical symbols (+, - and =)
I made each one designed to be cut and stuck into Numeracy exercise books, as children not yet used to writing on squared paper!
